Common Questions
Do you build on my own lot?
Yes. Most of our custom home clients already own their land. We handle site evaluation, soil testing coordination, architecture, permitting, and construction from that starting point through final walkthrough.
Do you provide architectural design, or do I need to hire my own architect?
We manage architecture as part of the build. For most projects we work with our network of licensed architects and designers to produce plans, then carry that design through photorealistic 3D rendering before permitting. If you already have an architect or plans you love, we can build from those instead.
How long does a custom home build take?
Most ground-up custom homes in the Phoenix metro run 10 to 16 months from permitted plans to final walkthrough, depending on size, site conditions, and material lead times. We give you a realistic schedule during the design phase, not an optimistic one.
What is included in the 3D design process for a new build?
Before we submit for permits, we build a full architectural model of your home and walk you through a photorealistic rendering, inside and out. You approve the floor plan, elevations, and every major finish before a permit is filed or materials are ordered.
Do you build guest casitas and detached ADUs as part of a custom home?
Yes. Detached ADUs, guest casitas, and secondary structures are common additions to a custom home build, and we design and permit them alongside the main residence or as standalone projects.
Are you licensed to build custom homes in Arizona?
Yes. Veritas Design and Build holds Arizona General Contractor license ROC #364525, valid throughout Maricopa County including Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and all Phoenix metro communities.
