How We Work
Our Process
A proven six-phase process built on 3D design technology and a communication standard most contractors don't come close to.
Technology We Use on Every Project
Phase 01
Inquiry & Owner Response
You reach out. A real person responds.
When you submit an inquiry, our owner responds personally during business hours. Not an auto-responder. A real conversation. We ask a few qualifying questions to understand your project, budget, and timeline before scheduling anything.
We are selective about the projects we take on. That first call is a two-way conversation. You are learning about us, and we are making sure we are genuinely the right fit for your project.
What You Get From This Phase
- Personal response from our owner
- Project qualification call
- Budget alignment check
- In-home walkthrough scheduled
Phase 02
In-Home Walkthrough
We assess what most contractors miss.
We arrive at your home with professional 3D scanning technology to capture the exact dimensions of your space. But beyond measurements, we do a thorough structural and mechanical assessment: load-bearing walls, electrical panel capacity, plumbing condition, HVAC layout. These are the things that determine what is actually possible and what it actually costs.
We walk the space together. You talk, we listen. By the end of the walkthrough, we understand your vision, have documented the existing conditions, and can give you a realistic rough budget range. Not a lowball to win your business.
What You Get From This Phase
- Professional 3D space scan
- Structural & mechanical assessment
- Scope documentation
- Rough budget range
Phase 03
Design & Selections
You see every detail before we price it.
Unlike most contractors who quote before designing, we do the design first. A paid Design Agreement kicks off a 2–4 week design phase where we build a full architectural model of your space and render it in photorealistic 3D that you can actually walk through on screen.
We hold a selections appointment where you choose every material, finish, fixture, and appliance. Everything is documented. At the end of the design phase, you have a complete picture of your project, and we have everything we need to build a precise proposal.
What You Get From This Phase
- Full architectural model
- Photorealistic 3D walkthrough
- Material & fixture selections
- Scope of Work document
Phase 04
Proposal & Contract
One number. No surprises.
We present the full design package in person: renderings on screen, selection board, scope walkthrough, and a complete construction proposal. Every line item is accounted for.
The construction contract includes a 25% deposit to begin. We submit permit applications within 24 hours of signing and order long-lead materials immediately. Any scope change during construction requires a written Change Order with your approval before a single extra dollar is spent.
What You Get From This Phase
- Construction contract
- Detailed scope of work
- Permit application submitted within 24 hrs
- Written Change Order process
Phase 05
Construction & Communication
You are always in the loop.
Every Friday, you receive a photo update email from our owner covering what was completed that week, what is happening next week, and any decisions needed from you. Draw invoices are issued at each milestone, not front-loaded. You never wonder what is happening on your project.
Our owner is on-site daily and reachable by text. We photograph everything before demo, maintain a clean and organized job site, and coordinate all subcontractor trades, all licensed and verified, on your behalf.
What You Get From This Phase
- Weekly Friday photo update emails
- Owner reachable by text daily
- Draw invoices at milestones
- Licensed & verified subcontractors
Phase 06
Final Walkthrough & Warranty
Not done until you say it's done.
Before your final walkthrough, we do a self-punch-list. We find issues and fix them before you ever see them. At the walkthrough, we address every item on your list before collecting final payment. Then we issue an unconditional lien waiver and your 2-year workmanship warranty.
You receive a complete project archive including all photos, signed documents, and a maintenance guide. We ask for a Google review, and we genuinely mean it when we say we hope you refer us to your friends. The relationship does not end at the final invoice.
What You Get From This Phase
- Pre-walkthrough self-punch-list
- Final walkthrough with client
- 2-year workmanship warranty
- Complete project archive
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of projects does Veritas take on?
Our primary focus is kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, and full home remodels in the Phoenix metro area. We also take on room additions, ADUs, and new home construction.
Why do you charge a Design Agreement fee?
The design phase takes real time: 3D scanning, architectural modeling, photorealistic rendering, and material selections. This produces something valuable: a complete picture of your project before you commit to construction. The design fee is credited toward your construction contract when you move forward. Our design clients almost always do, because by that point, we have already built trust and you know exactly what you are getting.
Will I know exactly what I am paying before construction starts?
Yes. We price every project in detail before breaking ground. If scope changes, we issue a written Change Order with your approval and a specific dollar amount before proceeding. You will never receive a surprise invoice.
How long does a typical project take?
Bathroom remodels: 4–8 weeks. Kitchen remodels: 8–14 weeks. Full home remodels: 12–24 weeks. Room additions: 12–20 weeks. Every project gets a firm schedule in the contract, and we track against it weekly.
Do I need to move out during construction?
For most bathroom and kitchen remodels, no. We work to minimize disruption. For full home remodels, we discuss this upfront and plan around your situation. We always give you a clear site access plan before Day 1.
Are you licensed and insured in Arizona?
Veritas Design & Build holds an active Arizona General Contractor license (ROC #364525), carries full general liability insurance, and all subcontractors are verified licensed and insured before stepping foot on your property.
